project background:
Several short films shown during SpIFF 2024 needed promotional posters for the event. I picked a thriller called To Die Alone.
my solution:
I picked To Die Alone based solely on the premise of the short film, which focuses on a PCT hiker (the PCT is very near and dear to my heart!). I started by sketching out ideas for the composition, then once I had settled on a general direction, started sketching it out in detail, adding color and outlines as the last step of the process. I’m very pleased with how it turned out and I can safely say the short film is really great as well!
I started with sketches to establish a composition.
The first composition was okay, but not quite there.
The second composition worked much better.
Now, to flesh out the composition and finalize it.
